Russia is now focusing on well-known critics of President Vladimir Putin who have fled the country, following the Kremlin’s unprecedented crackdown on internal opponents of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. The Foreign Ministry in Moscow has instructed its diplomats to track down Russian artists and public figures who openly criticize Putin and express solidarity with Ukraine from countries classified as “friendly” and have refrained from taking a stance on the war, as reported by two sources.
