The TV landscape today is vast. This article provides details of some of the shows, specials, and movies scheduled to be aired between June 5-11. However, schedules may change.

STARS ON MARS will be broadcast at 8 p.m. on FOX. This new competition series hosted by William Shatner, the “Star Trek” actor, will feature 12 celebrities living 24/7 in a simulated Mars space station. The “celebronauts,” which include the comedian Natasha Leggero, the wrestler Ronda Rousey, and the “Modern Family” star Ariel Winter, will compete against one another in a series of “missions” to eliminate one member of the crew at the end of each week.

CRUEL SUMMER will air at 9 p.m. on Freeform. This drama anthology series tells the story of the friendship that evolves among three teenagers: Isabella (Lexi Underwood), Megan (Sadie Stanley), and Luke (Griffin Gluck). The second season, presented through three different timelines, becomes entangled in a mystery affecting their lives. According to New York Times TV critic Margaret Lyons, the series takes cues from prestige crime dramas, offering terrific performances and appropriately tantalizing central mysteries.

30 FOR 30: THE LUCKIEST GUY IN THE WORLD will be aired at 8 p.m. on ESPN. This four-part documentary series about the basketball Hall of Famer Bill Walton is the latest installment in ESPN’s Peabody- and Emmy-winning series, “30 for 30.” Directed by Steve James (“Hoop Dreams,” “Abacus: Small Enough to Jail”), the series explores the role of sports in society and culture through commentary from Walton, his family, and a number of basketball stars. The episodes tell the story of Walton’s life, following him from antiwar protests at U.C.L.A. to an N.B.A. career in Portland, Ore., and Boston, while also exploring his struggles with his mental and physical health.

BURDEN OF PROOF is scheduled to air at 9 p.m. on HBO. This four-part true-crime docuseries took seven years to shoot, and follows Stephen Pandos as he pursues his own investigation into the disappearance of his sister, Jennifer. The latter went missing from their family home in 1987, at age 15, and their parents had purported that she ran away. Through Jennifer’s journal entries and letters, police records, interviews with family and friends, the series aims to depict what probably occurred that night. As Stephen uncovers missing evidence and his parents fail lie detector tests, he raises questions on their culpability.

IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA will premiere at 10 p.m. on FXX. The potty-mouthed protagonists from the longest-running live-action comedy series in American TV history are back for their 16th season, examining the adventures of Mac (Rob McElhenney), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Charlie (Charlie Day), Sweet Dee (Kaitlin Olson), and Frank (Danny DeVito) who run Paddy’s Pub in Philadelphia. This season finds Dennis and Mac investing in inflatable furniture, Frank shooting Dennis and Dee, and Mac and Charlie going on a road trip with their mothers to receive their inheritance. The show’s characters offer little redemption or growth, but for viewers willing to give it a chance, “Sunny” has a “brilliant ensemble of self-centered neurotics who somehow manage to be likable, despite their best efforts,” Austin Considine writes in his episode guide.

ALONE will premiere at 9 p.m. on History. This reality show’s 10th season takes place in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada, where ten survivalists are dropped off and left to fend for themselves in the wilderness. There is no camera crew, no outside help, only the ten items of their choice, enough camera gear to self-document their experiences, and a radio for emergencies. The winner takes home $500,000.
