Fans of Horizon, rejoice! Sony not only revealed the release date for the PC version of Horizon Forbidden West’s Complete Edition—mark your calendars for March 21st—but also unveiled a new trailer showcasing the various PC features. Among these features is the full support for the PS5 Dualsense controllers, ensuring that players can experience the same haptic feedback and adaptive trigger functionality as on the PS5.

The fine print in the PC trailer above indicates that users will still need to connect a Dualsense controller “to get a more controllable gaming experience.” It remains to be seen how the experience differs when playing wirelessly, but our hardware editor James will undoubtedly thoroughly test the game and its controls upon release. (For quick setup tips, refer to James’ guide on using the PS5 Dualsense on PC, which contains additional information on maximizing its benefits and the games that support Dualsense features.) In addition to Dualsense support, Horizon Forbidden West will offer various PC features, including support for a wide range of resolutions, from traditional 21:9 and 32:9 monitors to triple and 48:9 monitor setups. It also integrates with multiple upscaling technologies, such as Nvidia’s DLSS 3, DLAA, AMD’s FSR, and Intel’s XeSS, although a compatible graphics card is required to take advantage of these features. Furthermore, the game will support DirectStorage for faster download times on compatible SSDs, and an unlocked mode for achieving frame rates beyond 60fps on high refresh rate gaming machines and PCs capable of achieving higher frame rates. Horizon Forbidden West continues Aloy’s journey from where Horizon Zero Dawn left off, as she traverses post-apocalyptic America to confront a new threat from the west. The Complete Edition also includes the Burning Shores expansion, which introduces additional story content, new characters, and new areas to explore. Horizon Zero Dawn encountered some challenges during its PC launch in 2020, so hopes are high for a smoother arrival of Forbidden West. Fortunately, the game is set to launch on March 21st on Steam and the Epic Games Store, allowing eager players to get their hands on it soon.
