The travel plans of passengers on two Jet Blue planes were disrupted Thursday morning due to a collision on the tarmac at Logan Airport. A JetBlue plane was entering the de-icing pad lane Thursday morning when it came into contact with the tail of another JetBlue plane at an adjacent pad, causing damage to one of the plane’s winglets and the other’s tail section. Both planes were taken out of service for repairs. Despite the collision, no passengers or crews were hurt.
JetBlue has stated that safety is their priority, and they will work to determine the cause of the incident. Passengers on the affected flights, 777 to Las Vegas and 551 to Orlando, will be accommodated on other aircraft. Photos shared by passengers show clear damage to the wing of one of the jets.
According to the FAA, the collision occurred at 6:40 a.m., local time on Thursday, February 8. The FAA will conduct an investigation into the incident.
