Photo: Ubisoft During a recent conference as part of its Q3 FY2024 report, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot was asked about the ongoing rumors concerning Xbox. Specifically, a journalist asked Guillemot about his thoughts on the possibility of Xbox “expanding to multiple platforms”. While he refrained from providing a direct comment, he did share a bit of his opinion, stating, “On the rumors of Microsoft, we cannot comment. They will decide what is best for them. What you have to look at is that Activision Blizzard was multi-brand, so it may have an impact but it’s not a big impact on the industry.” It’s unclear how much Guillemot knows about the situation, given his focus on Activision Blizzard titles and Xbox history, and it’s understandable that he may not want to delve further into it at this point. Of note, Ubisoft recently acquired the cloud streaming rights to ActiBlizz games, so any future developments may carry implications for Ubisoft. For now, Guillemot seems to believe that it will not have a “major impact” regardless. What are your thoughts on the CEO’s comments here? Share with us below.
