In the early hours of Tuesday, a town in the Kursk region in western Russia was targeted by two Ukrainian drones, according to the regional governor.
The attack was initially reported by Kursk region Governor Roman Starovoit late on Monday, who stated that an explosive device was dropped from a Ukrainian drone in Rylsk.
As a result of the attack, two buildings had their facades damaged and windows were blown out, as mentioned by Starovoit on the messaging app Telegram.
Rylsk is situated approximately 25 kilometers from the northeastern border of Ukraine’s Sumy region.
Later in the night, around midnight, Starovoit confirmed that a second drone strike had targeted Rylsk, causing damage to a roof and several windows.
No casualties were reported in either of the two attacks.
Russia has been experiencing a growing number of drone strikes since Ukraine initiated its counteroffensive to regain occupied territories this summer.
Regional officials in Russia have been attempting to minimize the importance of these cross-border attacks.
