At last, the Honor Magic V2 can be ordered in the UK and Europe, and manufacturers of foldable phones need to pay attention. The phone is renowned as the thinnest foldable smartphone globally, measuring only 9.9mm when folded and 4.7mm when unfolded. This makes it slimmer than competitors such as the Google Pixel Fold, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, and OnePlus Open, which measure 5.8mm, 6.1mm, and 5.8mm at their thinnest point, respectively. The Honor Magic V2 is also smaller than its larger rivals when folded, with a 9.9mm screen, almost a millimeter slimmer than the next-gen OnePlus Open, which measures 11.7mm when closed. If you want to know our initial thoughts on the V2’s design, check out our review of the Honor Magic V2, which we will keep updating over time. The device features a 7.92-inch foldable OLED display (2156 x 2344 pixels) with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a maximum brightness of 1,600 nits. The phone’s second screen is a 6.43-inch, 120Hz OLED panel (1060 x 2376 pixels), protected by “unbreakable nanocrystal glass,” according to Honor.

The Honor Magic V2 is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, similar to the one found in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and OnePlus 11, with a memory configuration of 512GB (with 16GB RAM). It also features a 5,000mAh dual silicon-carbon battery supporting 66W fast charging via Honor’s integrated SuperCharge cable. The device boasts a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP f/1.8 ultra-wide lens, and a 20MP f/2.4 telephoto lens offering 2.5x optical zoom. Both the main and telephoto cameras feature optical image stabilization (OIS), and there is a 16MP front-facing camera as well. Other specifications and features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 5G support, stereo speakers, and Android 13 software with the company’s MagicOS UI. The Magic V2’s first-tier design is evident, but like other Honor products, it is not available in the US. The phone can be purchased in the UK for $1,699.99, which is reasonable compared to the higher starting price of $1,799.99 / £1,749 / AU$2,599 for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 (the V2 costs €1,999 in Europe). Honor offers some freebies as well; customers who order directly from Honor will receive Bang and Olufsen headphones (worth £459), six months of video protection, and a 66W Honor SuperCharge Power Adapter. An early bird voucher is also available, which lowers the phone’s price by $200 when activated on March 1, using code AV2PR200 at checkout. Similar freebies are also offered at Amazon, Very, Argos, and Currys, and the Magic V2 will be available to purchase from Three on February 2.
